Whisk n' Wine is a collaborative effort between two friends, Megan Diehl and Anna Bowers, that combines their individual yet cohesive ideas about food, wine, cooking and entertaining.
Megan is a ten year veteran of the restaurant industry and a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute. Working on her family's perennial farm in upstate New York has given Megan a sense of responsibility regarding how she cooks while her enthusiasm for food and cooking comes across each time she teaches a class.
Unlike Megan, Anna lasted only two weeks as waitress the summer she was nineteen. That, however, did not stop her from opening a wine bar and restaurant with her family in North Creek, NY in 2008. The philosophy of barVino runs parallel to that of Whisk n' Wine: sourcing as many fresh, local ingredients as possible, cooking with love, creating lasting relationships with guests and believing that wine should be fun.
At Whisk n' Wine, our cooking classes are laid-back, hands-on and beginner friendly. Each class teaches guests how to pair wine with food while focusing on a unique theme (such as holiday hors d'oeuvres, cooking with leftovers, kid friendly meals or using seasonal ingredients).
So whether you want to brush up on your soup making skills, barely know how to boil water or are interested in planning a unique team building activity for your company, Whisk n' Wine offers classes that address basic kitchen skills, challenge passionate home chefs and encourage a love of food and wine.
“You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces – just good food from fresh ingredients.” — Julia Child
